Beach days

In my opinion, there is no better place to spend a family vacation than at the beach. There is something for everyone to enjoy and no one needs to be "connected" or worry about wi-fi! It's the best!

Jojo and Jacob can play in the sand for hours and hours   Building sand castles and volcanoes and Mount Rushmore. They collect sand crabs and make homes for them and then have just as much fun destroying all that they built!

Jon and Randy will boogie board for hours. Jon has almost lost his pants a couple times and Randy has nearly drowned but they have had a blast!  They even boogie board so close that they can high five while riding the waves.

And I am in heaven seeing my family get along, play without technology, exercise and enjoy the outdoors. And I can sit here and read a book or walk to a coffee shop and grab a drink. It is the perfect day.

We need to live closer to the beach!!!!

Summer fun!

This was the boys' last day of summer gift. Water guns, water balloons, workbooks, sparklers, glow sticks, sunscreen, puzzles and books! And needless to say, the waterballons were gone by the end of the day. Let summer begin!

Puzzle complete!

When I was trying to think of some summer fun ideas, I I wanted to do some things that we don't typically take the time to do during the school year. One of these projects was to do puzzles! The first one might have been a little tough with 1000 pieces but they did it!!!!

Now we need to find a new project......

Pre Gaga

One if the best parts about going to see Lady Gaga is the pre party! I absolutely love that no one cares what anyone else thinks. There are no rules when it comes to how to dress and how to act and what is "acceptable". And I love it! No judgement. Well....a little, but only judging how brave, unique and unafraid these people are to wear whatever they want for whatever reason they feel. And the atmosphere is simply one of laughter and energy! Amazing!

Artists in the making

Proud mom moment! The school had its annual art fair last night and I couldn't be more proud of these guys!  I strapped a camera on jake for the last few weeks and he came up with some amazing pictures but his favorite was this one of Bruno!

Out of all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders- Jacob came home with first place!! Though he was totally embarrassed to go on stage to accept his award, I know he was proud of himself. Just the little confidence boost he needed!

Jojo also entered the show but didn't bring home an award. After the award ceremony was over, he got a little teary and asked me to check if there were any trophies left over because he thought he didn't hear his name. Poor jojo! Though I'm a firm believer that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and not everybody should walk away with a trophy. Jojo learned that tough lesson tonight.
